Akil Yunus is a former news journalist turned researcher, who currently works on IMAN projects that broadly revolve around security and countering violent extremism. In 2018, he graduated with an MA in International Relations (Terrorism and Political Violence) from the University of Birmingham, and retains a strong interest in state responses to terrorism.
